July marks the beginning of Neighborhood WIC’s fifth season of Farm to WIC! Farm to WIC is an initiative at Public Health Solutions designed to ensure that WIC participants know where to find NYC farmers’ markets, and how to use their WIC and SNAP benefits for local fresh foods. To learn more about using WIC, SNAP/Food Stamps benefits, and Health Bucks at the farmers’ markets, check out PHS’s Farmers’ Market Shopping Guide.

The growing number of farmers markets across NYC make it easy to access fresh, in-season produce any day of the week, and to meet the farmer that grows your food! All NYC markets sell items that were grown on local farms from upstate New York, New Jersey, or Pennsylvania. And the produce is the freshest that you can buy – most fruits and vegetables are picked the same day of the market.

For a listing of this season’s market locations, check out the NYC DOHMH NYC Markets Map. You can also text “SoGood” to 877877 and find a farmers’ market near you!
