In April 2019, PHS has transitioned to a new electronic system called NYWIC, which gives WIC participants a new way to shop for WIC foods using an eWIC card. The WIC2Go app is also available to participants to track appointments and food benefits.

We help over 35,000 eligible pregnant and nursing women and children up to age five years of age to enroll in the New York State WIC (Women Infants and Children) Program each year. Through our WIC program, we provide nutrition education sessions led by WIC nutritionists on healthy eating and physical activity, breastfeeding support, and eWIC cards to purchase nutritious foods. We also make referrals to other services including SNAP and health insurance (co-located at many of our sites), medical and dental providers, child care, and other needed services.

To make a WIC appointments at any of our nine centers in Queens, Brooklyn, and the Bronx, please check below for contact and site information.

WIC Vendor Management

Public Health Solutions operates the State’s largest WIC Vendor Management Program (VMA). We oversee and train 1,700 grocery stores, corner stores, and pharmacies that accept WIC. In this role, we ensure that WIC participants have access to safe and nutritious foods, receive exactly what is prescribed on WIC checks, have appropriately stocked and fairly-priced food choices, and have a positive shopping experience.

We provide vendor training and conduct yearly site inspections. Through WIC Vendor Management, we serve families in Brooklyn, Manhattan, Queens, Staten Island, Nassau County, Suffolk County, Orange County, and Rockland County. Visit the WIC Vendors In New York State website for more information for current and prospective WIC vendors.
