Institutional Review Board

Public Health Solutions’ federally approved Institutional Review Board (IRB) supports the organization in promoting ethical research conduct, and educating employees on the regulations protecting human subjects. The IRB is guided by the ethical principles regarding all research involving humans as subjects as set forth in the report of the National Commission for the Protection of Human Subjects of Biomedical and Behavioral Research entitled: "Ethical Principles and Guidelines for the Protection of Human Subjects of Research (the "Belmont Report")." In addition, the IRB adheres to the requirements set forth in the Department of Health and Human Services (HHS) Policy for Protection of Human Research Subjects (45 C.F.R. Part 46) for all applicable research, regardless of funding source.

Its mission is to ensure that the rights and welfare of human subjects are protected, when participating in research conducted by Public Health Solutions employees and their associates. It is also available to review research conducted by outside organizations that do not have their own IRBs.
