New York, NY — November 18, 2025 – Public Health Solutions’(PHS) NYC Breastfeeding Warmline has been named a Silver Winner in the Community Engagement, Health category at the 5th Annual Anthem Awards.

Breastfeeding is a vital public health strategy that saves lives and strengthens families. It provides infants with optimal nutrition and immune protection, while reducing illness and long-term health costs. For mothers, breastfeeding lowers the risk of cancer, diabetes, and postpartum depression, and supports recovery after childbirth.

The NYC Breastfeeding Warmline was recognized for its leadership in expanding equitable access to lactation support across New York City. The program offers free, real-time, one-on-one virtual guidance from International Board-Certified Lactation Consultants (IBCLCs) and provides culturally responsive, stigma-free support, particularly for families in communities disproportionately affected by maternal and child health inequities. The Warmline also hosts three Baby Cafés in the Bronx and Queens and prenatal classes to support families before their feeding journey begins.

“This has been a challenging year for the impact sector, but the Winners of the 5th Annual Anthem Awards have shown their resilience and continued commitment to a better tomorrow,” said Patricia McLoughlin, Anthem Awards General Manager. “This year’s winners are a source of hope, and I am excited to celebrate their work with the world today.”

“Public Health Solutions is truly honored to receive this recognition,” said Amen Ayanru, NYC Breastfeeding Warmline Program Manager. “The NYC Breastfeeding Warmline reflects the strength of our lactation program and the dedication of our lactation consultants—many of whom come from the very communities we serve. This award underscores the essential role of accessible, culturally responsive support in advancing maternal and infant health in underserved communities across New York City.”

The 5th Annual Anthem Awards received over 2,000 submissions from 42 countries. By highlighting initiatives that drive meaningful change, the Anthem Awards set a global standard for impactful work.
