Stephen Simcock, JPMorgan Chase
CHAMPION OF PUBLIC HEALTH AWARDPublic Health Solutions will be honoring Stephen Simcock for his leadership and dedication to Public Health Solutions, and his passion to improve health for New York City’s vulnerable families.
Mr. Simcock has served on Public Health Solutions Board since 2007, and is the Board Development Committee Co-chair. He is the Managing Director and General Counsel for Consumer and Community Banking at JPMorgan Chase.
He started his career as an associate in the banking regulatory and insurance groups at Semmes, Bowen & Semmes in Baltimore, Maryland. He later held a number of positions at First Nationwide Mortgage Corporation, including General Counsel and Executive Vice President for Compliance. He joined Citigroup, Inc. when Citi acquired First Nationwide in 2002, as GC of Citimortgage, Inc. At Citi, Mr. Simcock held a series of GC positions in their Commercial Banking Business, North American Retail Bank, International Consumer Group, and EMEA Consumer Group and Private Bank. During his last three years at Citi, Stephen was the GC of their Global Consumer Bank, which operated in over 40 countries.
Mr. Simcock earned a Bachelor’s degree from Colby College, and a Juris Doctor degree from Washington and Lee University School of Law.
Chirlane McCray, First Lady of NYC
PUBLIC HEALTH HALL OF FAME AWARDPublic Health Solutions is inducting First Lady of New York City Chirlane McCray into our Public Health Hall of Fame. This award celebrates extraordinary New Yorkers who have made remarkable impact on the health of families and communities in New York City.
Ms. McCray has redefined the role of First Lady, managing a robust portfolio to advance an ambitious agenda in support of all New Yorkers. Ms. McCray created ThriveNYC, the most comprehensive mental health plan of any city or state in the nation and she is recognized nationally as a powerful champion for mental health reform.
Additionally, Ms. McCray spearheads the Cities Thrive Coalition of mayors, with representation from over 200 cities from all 50 states, advocating for a more integrated and better-funded behavioral health system. As Chair of the Mayor’s Fund to Advance New York City, Ms. McCray brings together government, philanthropy and the private sector to work on some of the most pressing issues of our time, including mental health, youth employment and immigration.
Ms. McCray has embarked on an ambitious $6 million initiative to better meet the needs of incarcerated women and their families, a program which could become a national model for gender and family responsive incarceration efforts. She also launched and leads the NYC Unity Project, an unprecedented citywide effort to make sure LGBTQ young people in New York City are safe, supported and healthy.
The First Lady is a graduate of Wellesley College and has accepted an Honorary Doctor of Science degree from the CUNY Graduate School of Public Health and Health Policy.

Nancy Giles, Emmy-Award-winning Contributor and ActressPublic Health Solutions is happy to announce that our Health Reimagined 60th Anniversary Gala will be hosted by Nancy Giles. She was a series regular on China Beach, Delta, and Fox After Breakfast, and has been featured in films including Irrational Man, Joshua, Superheroes, True Crime, Working Girl, and Big. Nancy has taken part on TV panels including AM Joy Hardball, The Beat with Ari Melber, and The Last Word with Lawrence O’Donnell.
Nancy toured with Chicago’s famed Second City, developed four solo shows at downtown’s acclaimed Dixon Place, and is working on a collection of true stories entitled Notes of a Negro Neurotic. Her podcast The Giles Files is on Apple iTunes.
Nancy is a long-time volunteer with the 52nd Street Project.
