Fiscal Management Best Practices Training and Support
|
FITA assists nonprofit organizations in managing their government-funded programs by providing specialized trainings and one-on-one
technical assistance. FITA's Managing Your Organization in a Performance-Based Environment assists organizations - from large
hospitals to small community-based organizations - in transitioning from cost reimbursement based on a line item budget to
performance-based reimbursement.
Since the performance-based model requires direct service providers to conduct client services before their organization can get
reimbursed, staff members will need to be supervised more effectively than they previously were. FITA's Supervision in a
Performance-Based Environment Training assists managers in supervising direct service providers in a performance-based environment.
FITA's Demystifying Financial Statements and Reports Training For Executive Directors enables attendees to master the
meaning behind the financial statements and terminology that they often struggle with.
FITA's Common Cents© fiscal policy and procedures training package assists CFO's, Executive Directors, business managers and
accounting staff in managing their fiscal departments. The curriculum covers current policies and procedures based on industry best
practices, flow charts, customizable organizational charts, job descriptions and sample forms. The Common Cents© interactive
CD-ROM provides useful templates, which can be tailored to the specific needs of any nonprofit in the United States. At the end of
each training, participants leave with a draft financial policy and procedures manual on disk and, perhaps even more importantly, a
written implementation plan that is personalized to the needs of their agency. First provided to New York City AIDS service
organizations, the Common Cents© training is now offered to a wide variety of non-profit organizations nationwide both in
English and Spanish. Using Common Cents©, FITA has trained over 150 organizations throughout the United States and Puerto
Rico both in English and Spanish to develop their own fiscal polices and procedures manual based on industry best practices and to
create an implementation plan for use in their agency. Click here to learn more about Common Cents©.
