Diffusion of Evidence Based HIV Behavioral Interventions

Nonprofit Consulting Service assists community based organizations and state and local health departments across the United Sates effectively diffuse evidence based HIV prevention interventions (EBIs) through its national partnership with the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). 

In collaboration with the CDC, Nonprofit Consulting Services facilitates both training of trainers (TOTs), and training of facilitators (TOFs), and provides capacity building technical assistance and resource development for the Street Smart EBI - a packaged HIV/AIDS and STD prevention program targeting African-American and Latino youth in non-school settings, including Lesbian, Gay, Bi-Sexual, Transgender and Questioning (LGTBQ) youth. 

Street Smart uses skills-building to help groups of young people reduce their unprotected sex acts, numbers of sex partners, and substance use.  It is based on the Social Learning theory, which links feelings, attitudes, and thoughts tochange behavior.
