 Behavioral Risk Factor Screening

Public Health Solutions created a tool and training program for the integration of routine behavioral risk factor screening into programs offered to pregnant and parenting women through MIC-Women's Health Services with support from the Health Resources and Services Administration (HRSA). The specific risk factors to be addressed by this screening are depression, anxiety, substance and alcohol use, and intimate partner violence among women receiving reproductive health care. After implementing the program within MIC’s seven centers, Public Health Solutions created a training and technical assistance program that has successfully implemented the screening process in hospital Obs/Gyn clinics in Brooklyn and the Bronx, which is available to interested providers at a reasonable fee.
